This unique non-firing replica Cogswell Brass Pepperbox Percussion revolver was developed in London during the 1800's and features Multiple barrels revolving around a central spindle, each firing in turn as it aligned with the hammer, wood grips and features an engraved simulated brass receiver stamped 'London'. Overall Lenth: 8.5". The "Pepperbox" revolver was popular, primarily as a self-defense weapon, from the 1830's through the end of the Civil War. This piece replicates a London-made pepperbox and has a double-action mechanism, whereby pulling the trigger both cocked and dropped the hammer and rotated the next barrel into firing position.
