Item Description

This Southern M1851 antiqued gray percussion Pistol six-shot cap and ball revolver, circa 1860, was manufactured by Griswold & Gunnison near Macon, Georgia. This non-firing model gun has an antiqued gray finish accenting an authentic and historic replica. The action of this replica gun works like the original. Introduced in 1850 and made through 1873, the total production of the Model 1851 revolver was about 255,000 pieces. The cap-and-ball revolver fired six 36 caliber balls, and a loading mechanism was incorporated into the design. This non-firing replica has the handling characteristics of the original, with functional lock and loading mechanisms. This cap and ball M1860 Army Issue Revolver was carried by both sides during ΖThe War of Northern AggressionΔ as it was called in the south. The hammer really cocks and the chamber turns on this pewter finished sidearm with stained hardwood grips. Non-firing replica with the weight and feel of the real thing. Length: 13.5" Weight: 2.1 lbs
