What materials are used in the construction of your replica guns and rifles?

Our replica guns are made from a zinc metal alloy and overlaid with the proper finish like black, satin, nickel, pewter, or brass. Our replicas are approximately the same weight, size and feel as their original counterparts. They have all or most of the same moving parts as the original weapons and some can be field stripped for teaching purposes. The hammers can be cocked and the triggers pulled. Some models are single action, meaning the when the trigger is pulled the hammer comes back automatically in one action. While other models are double action, meaning the hammer has to be cocked before the trigger can be pulled to complete making the action like the German P08 Parabellum. Our replica revolvers have cylinders that rotate and/or swing out, just like the real firearm. The wood grips on our replicas also use real stained and/or polished wood. Other grips may be made of textured metal, a textured hard plastic (mounted to a metal frame). Or in the case of "Ivory" or "pearl" handled guns, a resin or polymer is used to replicate ivory or pearl type grips. As an example, some of the fancy Old West engraved presentation models have synthetic "ivory" grips.

The pre-1898, replicas have no plugs or caps in barrel. These include flintlocks and muskets, Civil War and Old West replicas, and some World War I guns, such as the SMLE Enfield. The barrels are plugged, but the metal "plug" is inside the barrel where it is not visible, and the muzzles are open.

Due to their more modern appearance, post 1898 replicas like the German P08 Parabellum, M1911 Government Automatic Pistols, and Mausers are required to have red plug just inside the end of the barrel by the U.S. Federal ATF laws. The red plug is flush with the end of the barrel, rather than an orange or red plastic "cap" protruding or exposed around the outside of the barrel.

None of our replica guns and rifles are the one-piece painted metal or plastic resin molds and you may have seen at your local stores are out in the world. Our replicas are historically accurate and made as closely as possible to the authentic design of the original weapons which include the approximate weight of the replicas. These replicas are durable and well engineered, but are vastly less expensive than their original counterpart, which makes it possible to build an impressive collection of the world's great classic legendary guns, without a huge budget to purchase them.
