French Boarding Cutlass with Scabbard
This Medieval French Boarding Cutlass is similar to the U.S. Marine cutlass features an overall length of 29.5 inches. This Napoleonic era cutlass was used by Pirates roaming the Spanish Main and features a curved metal blade, simulated brass handle, and leather scabbard with brass fittings.The Cutlass was a short slashing sword, ideal for the close- quarters battles aboard great sailing men-of-war. Generally regarded as a pirate weapon, the cutlass was, in fact, issued to the Naval personnel of many countries, and this piece by Denix replicates a French naval style of the early 19th century. Excellent for maritime re-creations. The blades of Denix daggers and swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened.
